500 HOUR TEACHER TRAINING (U.S.)
August 2022 In-person or Zoom
We’re bringing back a popular 30 hour immersion in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, led by Linsey Birusingh E-RYT 500 YACEP, who studied with David Emerson of the Justice Resource Institute, the man who pioneered trauma-sensitive yoga research, and more recently studied with Dr. Ann Bortz. Let’s explore the methodology behind a real trauma-sensitive yoga class, so you feel prepared to set this special population up for success, or maybe even modify and employ the practice for an all-levels setting! Learn how a somatic approach to healing can aid in trauma recovery. Create a healthy relationship with your students by leveling the power dynamic. Find ways to modify your cues and language to avoid traumatic emotional triggers. Take home a comprehensive list of mainstream yoga techniques to avoid with trauma survivors, and also ways to create a safe space for them to self heal. Click here for more information.
Myofascial Release as an Adjunct Yoga Therapy
Oct 2022 In-person or Zoom
Do your students want less pain? Healthy, hydrated tissues for optimal physical, physiological and neurological performance? Easier, increased range of motion? Shorter workout recovery periods? Mood shift in a matter of moments? Maybe you want to widen your scope of practice with a more keen anatomical understanding and the ability to acutely affect change where needed. Learn subtle, time-effective tissue manipulation techniques and how they produce a world of benefit. Explore agonist/antagonist relationships in the human body, and why fascial chains mean working on your foot may release other places like your hamstrings. Led by Linsey Birusingh ERYT 500 YACEP, 55 hour MFR certified. Click here for more information.
